Donating to the Dr. Brian M. Keenan Prize

All donations can be made payable to the Winnipeg Foundation referencing the Dr. Brian M. Keenan Prize.

In our first year of soliciting donations we are seeking pledges in order to reach the minimum $2500.00 needed to open an account with the Winnipeg Foundation. When the minimum has been reached all pledges will be collected and processed by the Winnipeg Foundation and an account will be open to accept all future donations.

Once an account is established with the Winnipeg Foundation, further fundraising efforts will aim to build an endowment fund in order to grow Dr. Keenan’s legacy and ensure the long-term stability of the award. Our goal is to establish a balance of $10 000 by 2015 with a long-range fundraising goal of $31 000, through donation and recapitalization. At interest rates between 4 – 5% this goal would allow for the award to continue in perpetuity, with approximately $1250.00 of interest being generated per year. Any further growth will be used to augment the size and/or number of prizes awarded in Dr. Keenan’s name.
